# Performance Bonus
Motivate affiliates to drive more sales with fixed cash bonuses for reaching sales or activity targets. Run the bonus as a one-time campaign or a recurring challenge that resets automatically
## How it works
* You can choose between setting up a **One-time bonus** (earned once) or a **Recurring bonus** (earned repeatedly over time).
* The bonus automatically displays on the Affiliate Dashboard, giving them a clear target to work toward.
* When an affiliate hits the target, BixGrow calculates the reward and automatically adds it to their pending commissions within a few minutes.
## How to set up
Navigate to **Extra functions** > **Performance Bonus** and click on the **Create bonus** button to start setting up the performance bonus
You can choose between two main types of bonuses depending on your goals:
* **One-time bonus**: Affiliates earn this reward exactly once. As soon as they hit the sales target, the challenge finishes.
* **Recurring bonus**: This challenge automatically resets every day, week, or month, allowing your affiliates to earn the bonus repeatedly during each new cycle.
### One-time bonus
#### 1. Bonus name
Enter a name for the bonus. This is for your internal reference only; your affiliates do not see it.
#### 2. Target
You can choose exactly what your affiliates need to achieve, whether it is Total sales, Orders, or Total referred customers.
Once the metric is selected, enter the target value, which is the exact number or amount the affiliate must hit to earn the reward.
#### 3. Active dates
Next, establish when your bonus challenge will run.
* **Start date** is required. The bonus becomes active on this date.
* **End date** is optional. You can leave blank to create an open-ended bonus.
> If the start date is today, the bonus activates immediately when you save it. If the start date is in the future, the bonus is created with status **Scheduled** and activates automatically on that date.

Once a bonus is active, its start date, end date, target, and reward amount cannot be changed. If you need to adjust these, stop the current bonus and create a new one.

#### 4. Program
By default, affiliates in all programs are eligible. To restrict, click on the Searching program bar and select one or more affiliate programs.
Only affiliates in the selected programs can qualify and see the bonus.
Leave the selection empty to keep it open to all affiliates.
You can see exactly how the performance bonus will look to your affiliates before saving in the **Preview** section.
### Recurring bonus
#### 1. Bonus name
Enter an internal name for the bonus.
#### 2. Target
Just like **One-time bonus**, you can choose from Total sales, Orders, or Total referred customers, and then enter your target value.
#### 3. Bonus reset every
Choose how often the cycle resets. The first cycle begins from the bonus start date. Subsequent cycles start automatically at the beginning of each new period.

#### 4. Program
Choose which specific affiliate groups can participate, or leave it blank to automatically open the challenge to all programs.
Now, see how the challenge will appear at the affiliate dashboard at the **Preview** section.
## Manage bonuses
### Bonus statuses
Status
Meaning
Scheduled
Created but start date has not arrived yet.
Active
Running - affiliates are accumulating progress.
Expired
End date has passed (one-time bonuses with an end date only).
Stopped
Manually stopped before expiry.
### Edit a bonus
You can edit a bonus only while it is in **Scheduled** status (before it starts). Open the bonus and click **Edit bonus** to modify.

Once a bonus is **Active**, you can only change the bonus name.
If a bonus is **Expired**, or **Stopped**, the **Edit** button is hidden, and all structural fields (goal type, target value, reward amount, dates, cycle) are locked.

### Stop a bonus
Open the bonus detail page and click **Stop bonus**. The bonus stops immediately – no new progress is counted. Affiliates who have already hit the target and earned a reward will still receive their bonus.
### Delete a bonus
To delete a **One-time bonus**, click on the bonus > **Edit bonus** > **Delete bonus** to delete it.
To delete a recurring bonus, you have to stop the bonus first, then delete it.
## Track affiliates' progress
Click on any bonus to view its details page. In the **Affiliate Progress** section, you can see the list of affiliates who have made progress toward hitting the target.
## How it looks for affiliates
Active bonuses appear directly on the Affiliate Dashboard, clearly displaying the challenge duration (weekly/monthly/one-time), the target milestone, and a real-time progress bar so affiliates can effortlessly track their progress toward the reward.
## How Performance Bonuses are paid
When an affiliate hits the target, a reward is created within a few minutes and added to their Pending commissions - just like a regular commission. You can check the bonuses in **Conversions** > **Bonus**. You can approve or deny after reviewing.
After being approved, a bonus will be included in the next payout batch.
## FAQ
Can an affiliate earn the same one-time bonus twice?
No. Each affiliate can qualify for a one-time bonus only once, regardless of whether it has an end date.
Can an affiliate earn a recurring bonus multiple times?
Yes, once per cycle. Each time a new cycle starts, their progress resets to zero and they can qualify again.
Does the bonus count conversions from before the bonus was created?
No. Only conversions that happen after the bonus is activated count toward progress.
Can I limit the bonus to specific affiliate programs?
Yes. Use the **Programs** field when creating a bonus (or editing a scheduled bonus). Affiliates in other programs will not see or qualify for the bonus.
Can I change the goal or reward amount after the bonus starts?
No. Once a bonus is active, only the name can be edited. Stop the current bonus and create a new one to change any other setting.
What happens to pending rewards when I stop a bonus?
Stopping the bonus does not cancel rewards that have already been created. Those will still be paid out through the normal flow.
