# Languages

## How it works

* BixGrow supports displaying the affiliate portal in multiple languages.
* One language is set as the **default language**, which is used when no other language preference is detected.
* Language settings apply across key affiliate portal pages.

## How to add and manage languages

To configure languages for your affiliate portal:

Go to **Settings** > **Affiliate portal** > **Languages**.

Click **Add language** to include additional supported languages.

Select **Change default** to assign a different language as the default. You can also enable **Auto detect language from the browser** to automatically match affiliates’ browser settings.

## How affiliates experience it

Affiliates see the portal in their browser’s preferred language when available; otherwise, the system automatically falls back to the merchant’s default language.

In this example, this is how the language select menu is displayed on the **Affiliate Dashboard** after English was set up as the default language while Chinese added as optional languages.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.bixgrow.com/affiliate-portal/languages.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
