Static coupons

Static Coupons allow you to give affiliates their own fixed, shareable discount codes that customers can easily use at checkout.

This kind of coupon makes it simple for affiliates to promote your brand across social media, videos, banners, or any channel where a visible code helps drive conversions. Itโ€™s a great choice for brands that want highly customizable, branded coupon codes that are easy for customers to remember and use.

For example, letโ€™s say affiliate James Miller joins your program. He receives a unique coupon code โ€” JAMESMILLER โ€” that gives his followers 10% off their orders. When a customer uses this code at checkout, they get the discount, and James earns a commission for that sale.

How to generate/assign coupons to affiliates?

With this method, merchants can automatically assign coupons to all affiliates within a program, making it easy to manage and ensuring consistency.

To set it up, go to Programs > Edit program > Customer Discount > Turn it on

After a coupon is created, a coupon template will be generated in the Coupons tab for easy management. You can edit this template, and all coupons under that template will be updated accordingly.

2. Assign to one affiliate manually (Single assign)

Merchants can manually assign a coupon to a specific affiliate. This method is useful for personalizing offers, testing different strategies, or providing exclusive discounts to selected affiliates.

Go to Coupons > Codes > Assign coupon

3. Assign multiple affiliates at once (Bulk assign)

This method allows merchants to assign coupons to multiple affiliates at once, which is ideal for seasonal promotions or large-scale campaigns. It streamlines the process and ensures multiple affiliates receive their codes simultaneously without manual effort.

Go to Coupons > Codes > Assign coupon

Once the coupons are bulk-assigned, a coupon template will also be created in the Coupons page. This allows you to easily edit the template later, and the changes will apply to all coupons within that template.

4. Import coupons in bulk

You can bulk import existing affiliate coupons into your programs. This is extremely useful when you migrate from another app.

To do so, you must first contact us to enable the Import button.

  • Upload your CSV file (email and coupon columns are required)

  • Click Import coupons

Set discount value and rules

Discount rules

BixGrow coupons are Shopify coupons โ€” theyโ€™re created indirectly through the BixGrow app. That means all discount settings and rules here follow Shopifyโ€™s native discount structure.

For discounts that are auto-generated from Program, go to Program > Edit > Customer discount

You can customize the following options:

  • Discount value: Choose between Percentage or Fixed amount, then enter the discount value (e.g., 10%).

Tip: If your affiliates earn a commission (e.g., 10%), consider balancing both values โ€” for example, a 10% customer discount and 10% affiliate commission often creates a fair winโ€“win structure.

  • Purchase type: Select whether the discount applies to a one-time or recurring purchase.

  • Apply to: Choose whether the coupon applies to all products or specific products/collections.

  • Minimum purchase amount: Optionally require customers to spend a minimum amount to use the coupon.

  • Customer eligibility: Decide whether the discount is available to all customers or specific customer segments.

How to combine a Static coupon with a Shopify coupon?

You can let your affiliate's static coupons work together with other discounts on your Shopify store by enabling Combinations.

In the Combinations settings, turn on the options based on which types of Shopify discounts you want the affiliate coupon to combine with. A discount can only be combined if both sides โ€” the Shopify discount and the BixGrow coupon โ€” allow it.

  • Product discounts โ€“ combine with Shopify product discounts.

  • Order discounts โ€“ combine with Shopify order discounts.

  • Shipping discounts โ€“ combine with Shopify shipping discounts.

For example, if your affiliate code is an order discount and your Shopify discount is a product discount, customers can apply them together at checkout only if both codes allow each otherโ€™s type. If one side doesnโ€™t allow it, Shopify will apply only one code.

To enable Discount combination in Shopify, go to Shopify Admin โ†’ Discounts โ†’ (select your discount) โ†’ Combinations

For example, letโ€™s say:

  • Letโ€™s say:

    • You have an affiliate code in BixGrow: AFF10 โ†’ gives 10% off the entire order (an order discount).

    • You also have a Shopify discount: TSHIRT5 โ†’ gives $5 off T-shirt products (a product discount).

To let customers use both codes:

    1. In BixGrow, enable Product discounts under Combinations for AFF10.

    2. In Shopify, open the TSHIRT5 discount and enable Order discounts.

    โœ… Customers can now apply AFF10 + TSHIRT5 together at checkout ๐ŸŽ‰

Some combinations can result in large discounts

The setup process for Single and Bulk Assign discounts is mostly the same as in programs, with only a few minor differences in configuration.

How affiliates share Static coupons

Affiliates can promote Static Coupons in two different ways, depending on how they prefer to reach their audience:

1. Share the coupon code directly

Affiliates can copy their assigned discount code and share it anywhere, such as social media posts, videos, emails, or banners. Customers can enter the code manually at checkout to receive the discount, and the affiliate will be credited for the order.

Affiliates may also choose to share their affiliate tracking link instead of the code itself. When customers visit the store through the affiliate link, the Static Coupon will be automatically applied at checkout, creating a smoother shopping experience.
