Create a custom affiliate link

A default affiliate link contains a random-generated tracking code, so this feature is extremely useful when you want to create a professional-looking URL for the affiliate to promote. It only changes how the link looks and not its direction.

To customize a default affiliate link, you must first click Customize this affiliate's link.

Then, fill in the new redirect you want for the default link (for example, a product's URL) and click Save.

Now your affiliate has a new affiliate link that redirects to a new URL! You can also shorten it to your own liking or follow the affiliate's name to tell them out. If you want to keep the redirected URL the same and only rename the link, you can leave the Enter a Home/Product/Collection URL box empty and only click Shorten link.

Please keep in mind that Shopify now only allows lower cases in redirects (or shortened links here) so inserting upper cases to the shortened link will make the link redirect to an error 404 page instead of your destination page.

This shortened affiliate link must NOT be partially or completely the same as the default affiliate link. For example, if the default affiliate link is https://bixgrowtest.com/quinn?bg_ref=3PF7VfZtzM, do NOT create the custom affiliate link as https://bixgrowtest.com/quinn or the two links will always redirect to each other in a never-ending loop, therefore causing an error!
